Exhibition Services offers a comprehensive range of touring and logistical services to the art and heritage sector. We provide nationwide packing, transport and installation services to private collectors, art dealers, government agencies, artists, corporations, auction houses and a majority of New Zealand’s public galleries and museums. We employ a wide range of independent contract personnel, including professional conservators, registrars, crate makers, installers and transport handlers.
Director Mark Roach has 25 years of experience in professional art handling and exhibition touring. He has worked for several major institutions including the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, the National Museum (Te Papa Tongarewa) and the City Gallery in Wellington, where he was exhibitions manager for 10 years until 1997. At City Gallery his responsibilities included both registration and the management of exhibition implementation. Mark was integral to the development and management of nine national and international touring exhibitions. These included a major Tony Fomison retrospective, ‘Under Capricorn’ to the Stedelijk Museum, ‘Cultural Safety’ to Germany, a Rosemarie Trockel exhibition (from Germany and to MCA Sydney) and several trans-Tasman collaborations.
Mark’s touring operation has led to successful partnerships with The British Council, Pataka Museum, National Library of NZ, Mahara Gallery, Millennium Gallery, Museums Aotearoa and several artists.
